The workshop will present best practices of regions utilizing public and private funding to implement successful ICT learning programmes (e.g. for young people, unemployed, career-changers). It will address the role of industry and the synergies that can be obtained in closer cooperation in view of the skills gap (also with respect to entrepreneurship), and the skills shortage that affects the industry and the economy. The workshop will bring together stakeholders playing a key role in activating digital skills funding, promoting stakeholder alliances and developing digital skills policies.

Save the date for the workshop on 'Education, Training and Skills: Connecting students and employers - the case of electronics', organised by the European Commission, DG Connect.

The workshop 'Education, Training and Skills: Connecting students and employers - the case of electronics' will be held from 9:30 to 16:00, on 13 October 2015.

The aim of the workshop is to discuss concrete measures that can be implemented using existing instruments including HORIZON 2020 or the sector skills alliance, an initiative designed to promote European cooperation within a specific sector of the economy. The workshop also aims to discuss the effective means to better connect supply and demand of the workforce as well as to set out the enabling conditions to bring these closer together.
