Here are some very useful educational web tools we have curated over the last few weeks. These are EdTech tools we came across through posts from other edubloggers. As is the case with previous posts in New EdTech Web Tools for Teachers, we only feature the recent trending tools which we think would be a valued addition to teachers technology toolkit. We live in a global world, so we need global teachers

With an interconnected world, we need to take people outside our immediate circles into account. Hence, this is a good discussion to have for pretty much anyone with Internet access, not just teachers, but teachers are a good place to start.

Creativity is an esential part of the blended learning. It is important to highlight the noncognitive skills that students possess. It also important to acknowledge that not all students learn the same. Competency-based education allows non-traditional learnings to compete with traditional learners.

The folks at Boundless who last brought us the EdTech Buzzwords Infographic are back with The History of Education. The graphic takes a look at how formal education began, changes along the way, current day and predictions for the next twenty years.

Nothing hidden about these "tips & tricks" - just standard every day library functions. This is not new, most these functions have been used since Win95, the days before we see the net as we do now. Nonetheless, whatever it takes for people to finally catch up and educate themselves about easier searching techniques! 

Good addition to 21st Century learning discussion. 

Creativity is something that can be nourished but can it be learned? I'm not able to decide on that yet.

Some excellent reminders - 'All experiences are neutral...you don't see things are THEY are, you see them as YOU are'.

This is a pretty good article for teachers who are trying to divert from the traditional methods of leading the class. The main focus should be the steps given, which are easy to learn and broad enough to adapt any classroom. I would recommend others use this article as a guideline to how you should lead the class room. I like the idea of imagining the role as a "learner first."

There can be many approaches which can aid the development of an educational leader in 21stcentury, here’s the step-wise of one such approach.

Very good perspective on the use of the Internet around the world. What is the use in other countries? Now you can see quickly. If you are planning a business venture, it is wise to know the use.

Las aplicaciones de la web 2.0 y su aplicación en las aulas.

La Web 2.0 ha dado el impulso definitivo a educadores y estudiantes hacia una educación más participativa, colaborativa, una educación 2.0, de la que forman parte las tecnologías y la colaboración. Con los actuales medios tecnológicos cada uno de los miembros que lo componen tiene una mayor accesibilidad a la información, lo que permite aportar nuevos puntos de vista que enriquecen la relación y contribuyen a construir un conocimiento nuevo, cooperativo, adaptado a las necesidades y particularidades de cada grupo, que con toda probabilidad serán diferentes a las del curso anterior.

Un ejemplo claro seria la plataforma de YouTube que es un sitio audio visual donde te puedes apoyar buscando un sin fin de información pero siendo atractiva por la forma que es en video, pero no solo es obtener si no también compartir para otros usuarios.

YouTube se encuentran a la disponibilidad del público millones de vídeos constituyendo la mayor biblioteca multimedia del mundo alimentada por el usuario quien se registra de manera gratuita, no es necesario registrarse para ver los vídeos pero sí para tener su entorno personalizado, suscribirse a canales de información o subir sus propios vídeos. También  es una  herramienta de aprendizaje ya que  muy útil en las aulas pues permiten la divulgación del trabajo desarrollado en la escuela. La posibilidad de administración en grupo contribuye a favorecer el trabajo colaborativo, pero a la vez insta a crear y fortalecer el liderazgo de profesores y alumnos. Asimismo, esta herramienta en manos de los docentes sirve para acercarse a los estudiantes, al contener la potencialidad de convertirse en una sala de clases funcional.

Las redes sociales son herramientas útiles para que un grupo de personas puedan potenciar su comunicación, sentirse parte de una comunidad y cooperar entre ellas en tareas comunes. Estas características pueden hacer que su uso sea conveniente en entornos educativos, con el fin de potenciar la motivación y la participación del alumnado en el proceso de aprendizaje, la interacción y la colaboración e intercambio de información,

 Otra herramienta es el FACEBOOK siendo una aplicación que hoy en día todos la tienen, pero esta no se puede usar solo para chismes o socializar sino también compartir información de aprendizaje y en ella incluir profesores dando tareas, instrucciones y compartir muchas cosas para un nuevo aprendizaje pero funcional para la educación los alumnos.
