People go on there with excited eyes to look for amazing recipes to cook for dinner that weekend, find ways to dress to the tens for a special date, or find creative educational materials to teach children with. One of the things that I always mention in my workshops on classroom blogging is the idea that blog posts don't have to be limited to text. In fact, they don't need to have text at all if you are having students make video blog entries. Posting video blog entries can be a great way to have students share reflections on things they have learned and experience in your classroom during a week.

Last night during my class about classroom blogs we had a short discussion about copyright, Creative Commons, and public domain media. As I always do, I made the recommendation that students should always try to use their own media before looking for public domain and or Creative Commons licensed media. Before starting any blogging activity or other multimedia presentation assignment, I think it is good to review with students the basics of copyright and Creative Commons. The following two videos from Common Craft provide excellent overviews of these topics.
