SEO Help: 3 Ways to Perform SEO on a Shoestring Budget

SEO Help: 3 Ways to Perform SEO on a Shoestring Budget | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

As the SEO landscape continues to change in 2013, many tactics that had previously been low cost, easy to implement and effective are becoming less and less effective. For this reason, a lot of small businesses are struggling to choose the right areas of focus to get quality results from SEO on a limited budget.

The truth is that things like comprehensive content marketing plans can be very expensive to execute, and for many small businesses a hefty monthly retainer to “do SEO right” might not be a legitimate possibility. So what can a small business that’s on a budget do to improve their search rankings without exposing themselves to a high level of short term risk?...

How To Double Your Revenue With SEO

How To Double Your Revenue With SEO | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

In 2012, I was privileged to handle SEO for some of the biggest Norwegian e-commerce sites. This is the story about how I doubled (and even tripled) revenue for them by following a simple, easy, yet unconventional approach that anyone — even you — can implement starting today.

At the heart of this accomplishment lie two things which are related to one another:

1. A focus on uncovering user intent, and then filling that need

2. The ability (and budget) to do all that’s necessary.

This may sound easy, but when you consult with a business that is stratified and compartmentalized into watertight departments and divisions, this presents many challenges....

5 Reasons Your Small Business Needs Local SEO | Business 2 Community

5 Reasons Your Small Business Needs Local SEO | Business 2 Community | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

This is partly because Google’s algorithm isn’t playing any games these days, and partly because there are so many businesses working on their local SEO at the same time you are. If these people are your competition it’s going to be more and more difficult to rank as time goes by.

Despite all of this, there are still businesses out there that aren’t embracing the essential nature of local SEO. Some are trying to keep things on a purely social playing field by purchasing ads on Facebook and focusing their marketing efforts exclusively in these areas. Others are (seemingly) deliberately ignoring the opportunity presented by the local listing pages offered by the major search engines – Google, Bing, and Yahoo each offer pages that businesses can claim in order to increase their local exposure. And if the search engine has a result to deliver that was created with their webmaster tools, don’t you think it’s more likely than someone other content to appear when someone searches for a term relevant to your business?...

Jeff Domansky's insight:

Local SEO is very important for many small businesses and is also one of the more difficult online marketing strategies to master. These tips will help...

How to Make your Local Website More Findable

How to Make your Local Website More Findable | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

If you’re attempting to make your website findable on search engines, the keywords you use are critical to your success. Let’s say you are a dentist in Los Angeles practicing general dentistry, Invisalign teeth straightening, and dental implants.

For those three services, the amount of keywords that searchers use to find you are many. Because of that, you have to carefully think through what’s good to use and what is not. Say a consumer has a cavity and he believes it may take a crown to cover the tooth. Knowing that, what would the consumer type in the search engines to find a dentist for this? Before you look at the list of possible keywords, first think of one or two keywords you would type in. Then compare to the list below and you’ll see how many possibilities there are....

Social Media Marketing and its Current Importance

Social Media Marketing and its Current Importance | Public Relations & Social Marketing Insight | Scoop.it

When people follow your business pages in Facebook or your account in Twitter, they are also likely to get to visit your company website, and even encourage their friends to visit.

That makes social media marketing a very important tool for lead generation. In addition, search engines now give more ranking points to websites that have an upright presence in social media. This is good because most of the traffic that you will get in your website will come from people starting off with search engine queries....
