It’s been over a year since Google bought QuickOffice. There hasn’t been much movement since, but a new announcement sure has our hopes up. Back in April, Google had made QuickOfficefree for Google Apps for Business customers, and now the office productivity suite is free for anyone on both Android and iOS devices.

 

There’s also a new icon being debuted, which is a Q drawn with the Google Drive colours. Among other changes, QuickOffice now has the ability to create .ZIP folders and can view charts in Excel and PowerPoint files. Given that this is one of our favourite office suites for the iPad, these are welcome additions to the feature list.
