Education 2.0 & 3.0

As mentioned, Moodle 3.4 has focused heavily on enhancing user experience to make sure our users are able to navigate and use all of Moodle’s tools easier and faster.

Fitting in with that focus, one of the improvements in Moodle 3.4 is the ability for to enrol and manage their learners from a single screen. This results in a smoother course management process, enhancing usability.

Considering the announcement made recently by Moodle Founder Martin Dougiamas signaling a development introspection of sorts, no new features will come in Moodle 3.4, and we might have to wait until 3.6 for brand new functionality. Rather, the coming year will focus on getting the existing parts working as they should, all of them already available in Moodle 3.3.

At the four-minute mark, Jeremy Schweitzer describes Moodle to the newcomers, touching on the “modularity” to which it owes its name, and important attributes including the open source nature of the project and the importance of a global community for its ongoing development.
