Many students with special education needs require human supports at school to navigate daily life, flourish socially and emotionally, and progress in their academic development. So, what became of these approaches and supports when, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring of 2020, the learning context shifted from school to “emergency” distance learning at home? What can we learn from the experiences of students and parents as we move out of “emergency” mode and into the current school year?
